"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." -Anne Frank
My name is Nadya Streicher, a soon GRADUATE at the University of Cincinnati. I will receive my bachelor's in neurobiology with a minor in psychology. My time here at UC has been intense but very gratifying. I'm a true Cincinnatian. I was born and raised here and feel completely at home as a bearcat.
I am looking forward to a year off from academics, but in no sense is it a year off from my professional pathway. I aim to use my time to continue working and diversifying my skills and strengths. Currently, I work as a patient care assistant at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center on their orthopedic/trauma floor. I also bar tend and serve at a hotel. Constantly improving my relationship skills and network is pivotal in these jobs. I want to see other areas of healthcare as well, specifically with non profit work. I hope to become involved with an organization that works to end healthcare disparity--be it a global or local level. I also plan to apply to physican's assistant programs across the nation by the end of the year. Finishing up, I am incredibly grateful for my experiences here at UC. From studying holistic medical practices in Oaxaca to interning for 1N5's mental health programs to leading freshman through their first year of college: I have been given the tools, the curiosity, and the passion to be successful in my endeavors moving forward. The organizations I have been blessed to be a part of have helped shape my top strengths of utilizing input, having a restorative outlook, creating a disciplined work ethic, and constantly developing and connecting individuals. Graduation is going to open many doors for me, but I will forever remain a bearcat- one that is constantly trying to become a global citizen and scholar.
